RACE COURSE

A. All boats must run counter-clockwise at ALL times

B. At the start of each race, NO boats will change lanes once in the staging area. See rule # 26.

C. If your race boat engine stops during competition, turn into the safety zone IMMEDIATLY (except to avoid cutting off another boat.)  Raise one hand to indicate a stop to the other boats.

D. Race flags are on the flag and safety boats.  Co-pilots must watch the flags at all times to check race status.

E. The boat that draws the inside lane (lane # 1) is the "pace" boat ("pole position").  when the white flag is thrown, all boats should be in line (along side of each other) and at the SAME SPEED as the pace boat.  The staging area should be set up far back from the start buoy so that all boats have enough distance to get on plane and be even with the pace boat.  The pace boat must allow the other boats to be in line.  No boat may pass the pace boat until the green flag is thrown.

F. No boat may change lanes while in the first or second turn, in the first lap. See rule # 26.

G. Standard races are 3 laps. Championship races are 5 laps.
